Chennai Braves beat Team Abu Dhabi

In the other match of the day at the Zayed Cricket Stadium, Jason Roy played a crucial role in holding his team together with a spectacular 39-ball innings. His knock included six fours and seven sixes, propelling his team to a total of 115-4. However, it was a challenging innings for the team, with only one other player reaching double figures.

Roy initiated a 40-run partnership for the opening wicket with Kobe Herft, who contributed 14 runs before falling victim to Abu Dhabi captain Dwaine Pretorius. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Roy remained composed, dominating the strike and aggressively scoring against the Abu Dhabi bowlers.

In response, Abu Dhabi's Leus du Plooy played a crucial role with an unbeaten 47, and Colin Ingram contributed 20 not out, keeping Abu Dhabi in contention despite the continuous fall of wickets. Openers Kyle Mayers and Alex Hales scored 18 and 13, respectively, while Tom Banton (two) and Asif Khan (four) also departed cheaply.
Abu Dhabi found themselves needing 22 runs off the final over, bowled by West Indian pacer Obed McCoy. Du Plooy provided hope by hitting a four and two sixes in the over, but ultimately, he couldn't muster the maximum required off the last ball to secure a win for Abu Dhabi.
