After a successful career on the cricket field, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has started new innings in his already successful career by entering the world fiction. 'Atharva' a sci-fi graphic novel starring Dhoni as the lead character will soon be on the digital platforms, where the former Indian captain will be seen fighting against the devils.
"Happy to announce my new Avatar.....Atharva," Dhoni captioned at the start of the video.
On Wednesday (February 2) Dhoni took to his Facebook handle and released a short promo of one minute and six seconds. The origin of the story comes from debutant author Ramesh Thamilmanis's book 'Atharva' and is backed by Dhoni's own production house, Dhoni Entertainment. It is worth noting that Dhoni had established the firm in 2019 with his wife Sakshi as he entered the entertainment market.
The 2011 World Cup-winning captain is currently in preparation for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 edition, where he will once again don the yellow jersey of Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The veteran is one of the most successful players in the history of the competition, having won it four times with the Yellow army. Dhoni's success is also highlighted by his World Cup-winning credentials in 2007 and 2011.
The 40-year-old was one of the four players retained by the CSK franchise in November. A whopping Rs 12 crores were paid for his services by the former IPL champions. In addition to him, Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali and Ruturaj Gaikwad have been retained by the CSK franchise. As they now move their attention to the IPL mega auctions, taking place in Bengaluru.
More than 500 players from 15 countries will be part of the auction bowl, where Dhoni's CSK will try to lure some of the big names. The auctions will take place on February 12 and 13. On the flip side, it won’t be a surprise to see Dhoni starring in more such roles in the future, as he has already entered his twilight in the cricketing field.
