Auctioneer Hugh Edmeades collapses during IPL mega auction

Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction had to be halted after auctioneer Hugh Edmeades collapsed at the stage. The incident took place when Sri Lankan cricketer Wanindu Hasaranga's bidding was going on. Edmeades was appointed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2018.

 

The mega auction for the IPL 2022 is currently taking place in Bengaluru, the auction will take place on February 12 and February 13. The IPL will have 10 teams in the upcoming edition, after two new teams- Ahmedabad and Lucknow, became a part of the IPL.

 

With the addition of two new teams- Ahmedabad and Lucknow, the upcoming edition of IPL will have 10 teams vying for the prestigious trophy in 2022.

 

A replacement

Commentator Charu Sharma will replace IPL auctioneer Hugh Edmeades. Sharma will conduct the post-lunch session on day one of the mega auction 2022. It was reported that Edmeades was doing fine but he will take rest on Saturday.
