Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited applications for Team India head coach, bowling coach, batting coach, fielding coach and Head Sports Science/Medicine with National Cricket Academy (NCA). The announcement was made on October 17 via the board’s Twitter account.
Deadline for applications
BCCI will accept applications for the head coach post till 5 PM on October 26. For rest of the posts in the coaching department and NCA, the last date for submitting applications has been set for November 3.
Earlier a BCCI source told Sports Tak that Rahul Dravid is likely to be appointment as the next head coach after the completion of T20 World Cup whereas Paras Mhambrey will be appointed as the bowling coach. Irrespective of the developments in UAE, both of them will apply for the job post and go through the process.
With T20 World Cup being Shastri’s last assignment with the team, BCCI was looking for a new head coach and Dravid was always BCCI’s favoured candidate to take the top job. Few Australian coaches had also expressed their interest to coach the Indian squad, but the Board was keen to have an Indian take the charge of the team.
Dravid, who is currently in-charge of the NCA in Bengaluru, had travelled with the second-string Indian team for the Sri Lanka-India series earlier this year when the main team was in England preparing for the five-Test series.
