An untoward incident happened with England Test skipper Ben Stokes as he fell prey to a robbery. On Sunday (March 12), Stokes revealed that thieves stole his bag while he was at King's Cross station in London.
The fuming soon took to Twitter to reveal the incident and while cussing the thief wrote a post which read,“To who ever stole my bag at King’s Cross train station. I hope my clothes are too big for you ya absolute ****** 😡,” Stokes tweeted.
It has been learnt that Stokes had the bag stolen at King's Cross after travelling up to London from his home in Cumbria to watch the England rugby team play France in the Six Nations. Stokes is enjoying some well-deserved time at home after a busy winter helping England win the T20 World Cup, leading the Test team to a historic 3-0 whitewash against Pakistan and a thrilling 1-1 draw with New Zealand.
Stokes will soon fly out to India to join Chennai Super Kings (CSK) squad for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 which is slated to start from March 31. CSK broke banks on the star English all-rounder and roped him for a whopping Rs 16.25 crore for the 16th edition of the glitzy league. CSK will lock horns with defending champions Gujarat Giants in the IPL 2023 opener on March 31.
Stokes will also be leading the English pack in the Ashes this summer when Australia travel to England. With Brendon McCullum as coach, Stokes will be hoping to register the first Ashes victory for England since 2015.
