Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming limited-over series against Australia. Babar Azam, Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi who received a break from the final two Test against England are making their return with this tour. However, they will again be rested for the Zimbabwe tour. The board has not yet announced the captain for these tours.

In their official statement, PCB revealed that their Chairman Mohsin Naqvi will announce Pakistan’s new white-ball captain in a press conference in Lahore, on Sunday at 3:30 pm.

Squad announced for ZIM tour as well

They also announced the squad for the Zimbabwe tour and to a surprise Babar Azam, Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi who are part of the Australia tour will not be playing in the series against Zimbabwe.

"Babar Azam, Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi, who were given a break from the last two Tests against England, return for the Australia matches but will be rested for the Zimbabwe tour. Similarly, Mohammad Rizwan will be available for the Australia matches and Zimbabwe ODIs, but will be rested from the Zimbabwe T20Is. This approach follows the selectors’ rotation policy and provides opportunities to domestic performers, aligning with the team’s strategy for the ICC Champions Trophy and beyond," revealed PCB in their official statement.
