Big news: Pink-Ball Test against Sri Lanka to be held in Kohli's fortress

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to take a brilliant step for former India skipper Virat Kohli. The Delhi-born batsman will now get a chance to play a Test match against Sri Lanka in his stronghold- Bengaluru.          

       

Pink-Ball Test 

After the completion of the series against West Indies, the Indian team will take on the Sri Lankan team as they are scheduled to take on each other in a series of two Test matches and three T20I matches. More importantly, the second Test match of the series is now expected to be played with pink ball in Bengaluru.

 

While talking to to Sports Tak, a source revealed that BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has made it clear that one Test match out of the two Test matches in the series against Sri Lanka will be played in Bengaluru.

 

Not only this, but also it is understood that the Bengaluru Test match will be played with the pink ball and this match will be the second Test match of the series. On the other hand, the first match of the series is scheduled to be played in Mohali.

 

The previous idea

Previously, it was decided that the first match of the two-match Test series between India and Sri Lanka will be played in Bengaluru on February 25 and second Test match of the series was expected to be played in Mohali on March 5. 

 

Apart from this, the first match of the three-match T20 series was slated to be held in Mohali on March 13, while the second match was proposed to be held in Dharamsala on March 15. The third and last match of the series decided to be played in Lucknow on 18 March. 

 

But now, along with the changes in the schedule of the Test series, some changes can also be made to the T20 series as well.

 

And now Indian cricket fans on the other hand, must will be heavily relieved as Kohli can be seen playing a Test match in Bengaluru.

 

Cricket fans in Bengaluru will now surely be pretty excited to see Kohli playing in their home ground. 

 

Kohli who is the skipper of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL will also get a chance to play his 100th Test in Mohali.

 

Expected schedule:

1st Test: 25 February-Mohali

2nd Test: 5th March - Bangalore

1st T20I: March 13th - Lucknow

2nd T20I: 15 March - Dharamsala

3rd T20I: 18 March - Dharamsala
