Former Australian Test cricketer Michael Slater has been arrested in Sydney on Wednesday for domestic violence allegations.
According to reports, the 51-year-old has been arrested in connection with an alleged incident that occurred last week. The New South Wales Police have confirmed that the former Australian batter was taken into custody on Wednesday in Sydney’s northern beaches. The former opener was taken to the Manly Police Station and has not been charged.
“Officers attached to the Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command commenced an investigation yesterday, after receiving reports of a domestic violence incident alleged to have occurred on Tuesday 12 October 2021,” police said in a statement.
The former cricketer played in 74 Test matches for Australia and retired in 2004.
