England’s star all-rounder Ben Stokes has been added to England men’s Test squad for the Ashes Tour. Stokes has said that he is ‘ready for Australia’ after taking an indefinite from cricket.
The all-rounder had hinted about his come-back via his social handles, where he was seen resuming his practice.
The Durham-cricketer, who underwent a second surgery on his fractured left-index finger has been given a clearance and will join the squad on November 4.
ECB in a statement on their website said,
“Stokes, who has been given the all-clear by his consultant and the ECB medical team to resume training following his second operation on a fractured left index finger, will depart with the Test specialists and the Lions on 4 November.”
The 2019 World Cup star announced in July that he was taking an indefinite break from cricket to prioritize his mental well being. The 30-year-old is now ready to return to competitive cricket.
“I had a break to prioritise my mental well being and I got my finger sorted.I am looking forward to seeing my mates and being on the field with them. I’m ready for Australia,” Stokes said.
The star player last played for England in the ODI series against Pakistan in July.
The Ashes will begin on December 8 at the Gabba, Brisbane.
