IND vs AUS: India Under-19 opener's unbeaten 75-ball 109 leads hosts to easy 9-wicket win over Australia, clinch series

Maharashtra-born opener Sahil Parakh went berserk in Puducherry as he smashed a 71-ball century against Australia Under-19 to lead India Under-19 to a nine-wicket win with 28 overs to spare. The one-sided win helped India U19 take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-One-Day series. 
 

Australia post a below par total

In the second youth ODI, Oliver Peake won the toss and opted to bat first. Mohamed Enaan broke the opening partnership in the 11th over. Alex Lee Young got bowled after scoring 19 runs from 41 balls. In the 13th over, Riley Kingsell was run out by Mohamed Amaan. The opener scored 15 runs from 29 balls. Skipper Peake (15) and Zac Curtain (17) got off to starts but were dismissed by off-spinner Kiran Chormale.
 

Addison Sheriff and Christian Howe shared a 61-run partnership for the fifth wicket from 92 balls. Hardik Raj broke the partnership in the 41st over. Lincoln Hobbs accelerated and contributed with an eight-ball 16 cameo. Hobbs hit the only six of the innings before losing his wicket to Samarth Nagaraj. Sheriff missed the chance to score his fifty. He top-scored for the visitors with 39 runs from 61 balls. 

Tailenders Hayden Schiller, Vishwa Ramkumar and Harry Hoekstra were dismissed for single-digit scores as Australia U19 wre bowled out for 176 with three balls remaining in the innings.

Parakh goes berserk

In the run chase, opener Rudra Patel was dimissed by Hoekstra in his second over. Parakh and wicketkeeper-batter Abhigyan Kundu dominated the proceedings. Parakh took the aerial route more often and smashed five sixes, 14 fours in his knock. He remained unbeaten for 109 runs from 75 balls. His strike rate was 145.33. On the other hand, Kundu scored 53 runs from 50 balls. His knock featured nine fours.

Easy win in first One-Day game too

Earlier, in the first One-Day game, India U19 won by seven wickets. Enaan took four wickets to restrict Australia U19 for 184. Skipper Amaan and KP Karthikeya's half-centuries helped India U19 chase down the target with 14 overs to spare.
 

Last One-Day game

The third and last One-Day game of the series will be played on September 26 at the same venue. It will be followed by two unofficial tests starting September 30.
