The Indian team will play two T20I matches against West Indies in the United States, in August 2022. The series will be comprised of three ODI matches and five T20I games.

Six matches are slated to be played in West Indies and two T20I games will take place in the United States. The two T20I matches are expected to be hosted by Cricket West Indies (CWI) at Lauderhill, Florida. Notably, this venue had hosted six international fixtures previously. Earlier, Indian team had played four matches at this venue.

The schedule

The series is expected to kick off in third week of July.

“Playing the last two T20Is in the US makes logistical sense for the Indian team,” a BCCI official was quoted while talking to Cricbuzz.

The CWI on the other hand, has not confirmed the American schedule so far, but a top official was quoted saying, “The Indian schedule will be announced soonest.”

"The Florida plan of the CWI is in line with its long-term partnership with USA Cricket, which is aimed at gearing towards growing the game in the Americas by re-energizing the sport with a new generation of fans in the West Indies and unlocking cricket’s potential in the USA,” the official said.

Indian team's schedule

Notably, after the completion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, team India will face South Africa in a five-match T20I series. After that Indian team will travel to England for a pending Test match and a six-match white-ball series.

The Test match is scheduled to take place on July 1 and the first T20I of the three-match T20I series between the two teams will be held in Southampton on July 7.

After the completion of the three-match T20I series, India and England will take on each other in a three-match ODI series. The ODI series will commence on July 12, at Kennington Oval. The final match of the ODI series will be played on July 17, in Manchester.
