MI appointed Hardik Pandya as their new skipper ahead of IPL 2024.

Former India bowling coach Paras Mhambrey has joined Mumbai Indians' support staff ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction 2024. As per TOI Mhambrey is indeed on board with MI as their bowling coach.

MI features Indian fast bowling superstar Jasprit Bumrah and currently has Sri Lankan pace great Lasith Malinga and former India pacer TA Sekar as bowling coaches.

Mhambrey, who has been with the Mumbai Indians since the IPL's inception in 2008, also served as the coach of the India Under-19 team during the 2020 U-19 World Cup in South Africa.

Over nearly three years with the senior Indian team, the 52-year-old former pacer garnered praise, particularly from star bowler Mohammed Shami, who frequently acknowledged him during matches. Mhambrey received recognition for the outstanding performances of Indian bowlers in the 2023 ODI World Cup in India and the T20 World Cup in the West Indies earlier this year.

Mumbai Indians IPL performance

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians are one of the most successful franchises in the history of the tournament. They won five IPL titles under Rohit Sharma's captaincy. They won their last IPL title in 2020 but after that, there was a significant downfall in their performance. After poor performance, the franchise appointed Hardik Pandya as their new skipper.
