A small island known as the Isle of Man, which is ironically located between Ireland and Men's T20 World Cup winners England, are now of the record books in the world of cricket after they recorded the lowest score in the history of T20 cricket.

The side were bowled out for just 10 runs in 8.4 overs during their bilateral series against their European counterparts at the La Manga Club Bottom Ground in Spain.

The side broke this unpleasant record, which was initially held by Australian side Sydney Thunder against the Adelaide Strikers during the recently-concluded 2022-23 edition of the Big Bash League (BBL).

Seven of the Isle of Man batters failed to open their account. Their top scorer was Joseph Burrows, who scored four runs off seven balls. For the hosts, the best bowler was Atif Mehmood, who finished with figures of 4/6.

Mohammad Kamran and Lorne Burns picked up three and two wickets respectively.

This is also the lowest score in T20I cricket. The record was set by Turkey in 2019 after the side were bowled out for 21 runs by the Czech Republic at Ilfov County.

A day back on February 25, the Isle of Man side were dismissed for 66 runs, which was their previous lowest score against the same opponents. The tiny country have played 16 T20Is so far, having won eight and lost seven. One match ended in no result.

They won all three of their matches against Cyprus, and also beat Estonia twice. They also defeated Romania, Serbia and Turkey once.

Isle of Man went on to lose the six-match T20I series against Spain 0-5. They started with an 81-run defeat, after which the second match was washed off. Spain won the third and fourth games by eight and six wickets respectively to claim the series 3-0. Thereafter, Spain won the fifth T20I by seven wickets and then came the crushing victory over the Isle of Man.
