Big News: Jasprit Bumrah not entirely ruled out of World Cup yet but BCCI reluctant to rush his return

All the noise surrounding Jasprit Bumrah's lingering fitness and his ODI World Cup chances have come to a rest as the recent development suggests that India's pace spearhead might directly join the Men in Blue for the marquee tournament which will be played later this year.

However, management are tight lipped on India's top bowler as he was rushed to play a few times not having fully recovered.

Meanwhile, a source privy to the development told Sports Tak that in BCCI management it's very clear that they won't take any call on Bumrah in hurry.

“He will soon report to NCA and VVS Laxman will closely monitor Bumrah's fitness. Since he was rushed for some matches and his issues remain as it is. So this time the board wants to take each and every step carefully. A wrong decision might cost team so no hurry as far as his return is concerned, plan is to give Bumrah some sort of match fitness before the ODI World Cup but do not rule out the possibility of straightaway seeing Bumrah at ICC's showpiece event,” source said.

Bumrah had injured his back ahead of the Asia Cup 2022 and had hence missed the crucial tournament in UAE. He however returned for the home series that followed against Australia, but was sidelined once again with the same injury and was eventually ruled out of the T20 World Cup.
