Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) star batting all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer tied the knot with Shruti Raghunathan after the franchise's Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 triumph. The couple got engaged in November 2023. They got married on May 2 (Sunday).

Venkatesh Iyer's IPL 2024 performance

Iyer was in lethal form in the recently-concluded season of the IPL as he played the key role in KKR's third title win. He scored 370 runs in 14 matches with a strike rate of 158.80 including four half-centuries and a high score of 70.

 

Iyer played a match-winning knock of unbeaten 52 in the IPL 2024 final against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) which helped the franchise to win their third title.

KKR vs SRH, IPL 2024 final

Talking about the final match, Kolkata-based franchise bowled out SRH for just 113 runs at M.A. Chidambaram (Chepauk) stadium in Chennai. It was the lowest innings total in the final clash in the history of the tournament. 

 

IPL's most expensive buy Mitchell Starc was in lethal form in the final. He picked two wickets in three overs he bowled and conceded 14 runs. The left-arm pacer was awarded player of the match. Sunil Narine was awarded player of the tournament for his all-round performance throughout the season.
 

"This is what we demanded from the team and every individual. They stood up to the right occasion and the feeling is hard to express. It (wait) was so long, longer than the match. We played like invincibles throughout the season. There's so much to cherish right now. It is pleasing, the performance has been flawless throughout. I am running out of words right now," KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer had said after lifting the title.
