Team India's star batter KL Rahul is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The elegant right-handed batter is slowly but steadily recovering from his injury, and on July 19 (Wednesday), the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper gave a glimpse of his explosive batting in the net and intense workout in the gym as he gears up to make a comeback into the Indian side.

Rahul has been on the sidelines since the middle of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season after suffering a thigh injury while fielding for LSG, which ruled him out of the IPL as well as the World Test Championship (WTC). Rahul had a successful thigh surgery in May and is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the NCA.
Rahul was missed in the WTC 2023 final between India and Australia, with the former losing at The Oval earlier in June. KL Rahul was originally in India's squad for the summit clash but was later ruled out due to a thigh injury and was replaced by Ishan Kishan. Rohit Sharma and his team suffered a 209-run defeat as they failed to chase down Australia's 444-run target in the fourth innings.
Rahul also missed the ongoing India tour of the West Indies as he continues to amp up his recovery process. There have been reports suggesting that Rahul might make a comeback in the 2023 Asia Cup. Having said that, there is no official confirmation on that just yet.
The Men in Blue would hope to have Rahul back into the squad as early as possible as the Indian team is scheduled to play two major tournaments later in the year. With Asia Cup and ODI World Cup scheduled to be played in the next four months, Rahul's availability will be key for India as the wicketkeeper-batter plays a pivotal role in India's side in the 50-over format.Â
