Kohli has announced his retirement from T20Is after India won the T20 World Cup 2024 defeating South Africa in the final at Kensington Oval in Barbados on June 29. He recently featured in the ODI series against Sri Lanka where the hosts Sri Lanka won the series by 2-0.
“Somebody like Virat knows all the answers. Sometimes you need to take them to those answers which you know are the right ones. He has seen all the highs and the lows. It is an universal truth that players go through a rough patch, bad form, when the runs don't come by. If there is a technical flaw, you should intervene a little and fix that, but it was not the case with Virat. Its just the runs were not coming by. The only thing he required was just the support basically. All of us knew that if he ends up scoring runs in any of the matches, he'll win us the game and he did that in the finals”, added Rathour.
Kohli will now feature in the Test series against Bangladesh which is scheduled to start from September 19 and the first match will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. BCCI yet to announce their squad for the two-match Test series. Kohli is currently in London spending quality time with his family.
