Former Team India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh will be back on the cricket field when he competes in the second season of the Legends League Cricket (LLC) in September. The legendary India spinner will join former India opener Virender Sehwag, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, as well as Australian speedster Brett Lee, spin legend Muttiah Muralitharan and World Cup-winning former England captain, Eoin Morgan.
The second season of the LLC will feature four teams and 110 former international cricketers.
“It makes me feel supercharged to be back on the ground and play with the global legends of the game. I am looking forward to September eagerly,” Harbhajan said. Besides Harbhajan, former Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza has also confirmed his participation in the upcoming edition of LLC.
An excited Raman Raheja, co-founder, and CEO of Legends League Cricket said on Harbhajan’s joining Season 2 of the league, “with great excitement we welcome Harbhajan to the team. We missed him due to Covid in January and now looking forward to experiencing the magic of his spin bowling on the field again.
"After the confirmations from Harbhajan, Mortaza, Simmons, and Ramdin, who all are international legends of the game, it surely adds to the octane energy for Season 2 of the league,” he added.
Meanwhile, former West Indies cricketers, Lendl Simmons and Denesh Ramdin have joined the league's player draft for the upcoming season. The inaugural edition of the tournament featured former cricketers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, and England divided into three teams representing India, Asia, and the Rest of the World respectively.
The second edition of the LLC will be played from September 20 to October 10.
