In a big boost to the second edition of the Legends League Cricket, the 'Universe Boss' and West Indies cricket legend Chris Gayle is set to be the latest member to join the league. The power hitter joins the likes of Harbhajan Singh, Eoin Morgan, Virender Sehwag, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, as well as Australian speedster Brett Lee, and spin legend Muttiah Muralitharan.

The dynamic West Indian batter has a plethora of records under his name, including the most runs (now 10,000+), most hundreds, fastest hundred, and most fours and sixes. He has 15 Test hundreds and over 7,000 runs across 103 matches and has played for a number of T20 franchises with the infamous 33-numbered jersey — his highest First-Class score, which he made against Sri Lanka at Galle, to become only the fourth batsman after Don Bradman, Brian Lara and Virender Sehwag with two Test triples in a lifetime.

"It gives me immense pleasure and excitement to be part of this prestigious league and to play with the iconic legends of the game." India, see you at the venues," Gayle said in a press statement released by the Legends League Cricket, which also confirmed his participation.

Raman Raheja, Co-Founder & CEO of Legends League Cricket said, "With Chris on board, LLC has become bolder and bigger. I am sure fans and viewers must be expecting more firepower on the field to get entertained with the clash of iconic legends of cricket."

The second season of the LLC will feature four teams and 110 former international cricketers. Recently, the LLC also announced that the second season will be hosted in six Indian cities — Kolkata, Lucknow, Delhi, Jodhpur, Cuttack, and Rajkot.

The tentative dates are September 17, 2022, to October 8, 2022.
