The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will have a tough time to decide upcoming fixtures as the schedule for the Sri Lanka tour remains in limbo. The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) had requested the BCCI to make some minor changes to the tour that starts in the final week of February. With less than a month to go, the venues of the matches in the series are still undecided.

India and Sri Lanka are set to lock horns in two Test matches and three T20Is.

The first T20I could be played in Lucknow, while the remaining two T20Is might take place in Dharamsala. This though remains yet to be finalised as the BCCI will take a final call on the this very soon, Sports Tak reported.

Virat Kohli likely to play his 100th Test in Mohali

Virat Kohli is most likely to play his 100th Test match in Mohali, as per reports. The two-match Test series will be an important chapter for team India as they look to gain some valuable points in the World Test Championship (WTC). The second Test match will take place in Kohli's Indian Premier League (IPL) home ground Bengaluru, but this remains still unconfirmed as the BCCI will confirm the venues.

The Test series, starting on February 25, will also see a new Test captain, with several names in contention to become the new leader of the Test side. Previously, Kohli had announced his decision to relinquish his Test captaincy just a day after India's 2-1 defeat in the three-match Test series against South Africa.

Previous schedule

Earlier, Mohali was scheduled to be the preferred destination for the first T20I while Dharamsala and Lucknow remained the locations for the second and third T20I matches respectively. But with Mohali most likely to get the Test match, the first T20I will now be hosted by Lucknow, while Dharamsala remains the location for the second and third T20I.
