Reports emerged on Sunday (June 11) night that India will face off against Pakistan in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 on Sunday, October 15, in Ahmedabad, with the BCCI sharing a draft schedule with the ICC. This schedule will now be sent to the participating countries for feedback before the final list of dates is shared early next week.
The final match is set to be played on November 19 at the same venue.
The news comes after Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chose to adopt PCB's hybrid model for the highly anticipated 2023 Asia Cup. Reliable sources at Sports Tak have revealed that the ACC is set to make the official announcement next week, and intriguingly, India matches are now poised to take place in Sri Lanka.
Furthermore, according to a report in ESPNCricinfo, India is likely to play their matches across nine venues in the country. Chennai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Pune, Dharamshala, Lucknow, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kolkata will each get an Indian game.
On the flip side, Pakistan are likely to play their five league matches across five venues in India.
