Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced their squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 which is scheduled to take place in October in UAE. The cricket board announced speedster Fatima Sana as captain. She takes over from allrounder Nida Dar. This will be Fatima's first time leading Pakistan in T20Is and at any ICC event. Earlier, she captained Pakistan twice in ODIs, including a famous Super Over win against New Zealand at Hagley Oval when she stood in for the concussed Dar.
Apart from the new captain, the side are only with one change from the squad that toured Sri Lanka for last month's Women's T20 Asia Cup. Batter Sadaf Shamas, also part of the Women's T20 World Cup in 2023, replaced wicketkeeper-batter Najiha Alvi.
