A strike rate of more than 180 and an average of more than 50 in T20 cricket. Five T20 matches in four days. Among them one century and two half-centuries. It's not just that. In these five matches, 17 sixes and age 36 years. The charismatic player is Taranjeet Singh of Romania. He is wreaking havoc with the willow at the ongoing Valletta Cup being played in Marsa, Malta. Taranjeet has played five matches in a span of four days from May 11 to May 14 and so far he has amassed 314 runs in 179 balls loaded with 17 sixes. He continued the blitz on Saturday (May 14) playing against Gibraltar and cracked an unbeaten 84 off 35 balls.


A ton, three fifties and five wickets

In the Valletta Cup, Taranjeet played a match against Malta on May 11 in which he smashed 63 runs in 44 balls with the help of one four and a six. He doubled it with by snaring a wicket as well. Taranjeet continued the onslaught with a knock of 43 runs off 25 laced with six boundaries and two maximums and then scalped a wicket against Hungary on May 12. On May 13, the Romanian batter played two matches. He started off by slamming a superb 110 off 61 against the Czech Republic riding on 12 fours and five sixes and then also took a wicket. In the second match of the day, he scored 14 runs in 14 balls with the help of three fours against Bulgaria. The fifth match that he played was against Gibraltar on Saturday (May 14). In this match, he scored an unbeaten 84 off 35 balls. In this match, he hit seven fours and six maximums. This is how in five matches, Taranjeet mustered 314 runs in 179 balls, which included 17 sixes and followed it up by snaring five wickets.


Taranjeet in a span of 13 matches makes a mark in International cricket

Taranjeet has played 13 T20 Internationals so far in his career. Out of which he has garnered 590 runs at an average of 53.63 with a strike rate of 184.37. He also has a century and five half-centuries against his name and a superb 110 remains his best performance so far. In total he has pummelled 72 fours and 29 sixes. He also impressed with the ball as he snared 14 wickets in 13 matches with a decent economy rate of 6.97. His best performance remains 3/27.
