Priyank Panchal to lead India A squad against New Zealand, maiden call-ups for upcoming stars

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on August 24 (Wednesday) announced the squad for the four-day matches between India A and New Zealand A slated to begin from next month. Gujarat batter Priyank Panchal has been appointed as the skipper of the India A side while Sarfaraz Khan, Umran Malik and Ruturaj Gaikwad were also included in the 17-member squad. Mumbai Indians' Tilak Varma earned a maiden call-up to India A squad.

 

The two teams are scheduled to play three four-day matches and the fixtures will be Bengaluru and Hubli. The first match will be played between September 1-4, second between September 8-11 and third between 15-18.

 

The two teams will also play a three-match ODI series, the squads for which will be announced later. All three limited-overs matches will be held at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
