Shreyanka Patil stars yet again as India A Women clinch Emerging Teams Asia Cup crown with easy win over Bangladesh in final

Led by Shreyanka Patil's exquisite display with the ball, India A Women defeated Bangladesh A Women by 31 runs in the final to clinch the Emerging Teams Asia Cup crown on June 21 (Wednesday). Shweta Sehrawat's team rode on a brilliant performance by the bowlers after batters failed to post an imposing total on the board.

Defending an average score of 127 runs, Indian bowlers kept chipping away at the wickets column and never allowed Bangladesh batters to forge a partnership. The highest partnership for Bangladesh was 14 runs for the fifth wicket. Only three Bangladesh batters managed double-digit scores as Indian bowlers ran riot.

Nahida Akter, who remained unbeaten on 17 runs off 22 balls, was the top-scorer for Bangladesh. Shathi Rani (13) and Sobhana Mostary (16) were the other two batters who got starts but failed to convert those into a substantial score.

For India, Titas Sadhu and Mannat Kashyap bowled beautifully with the new ball. Sadhu finished with figures of 1/14 in 2.2 overs while Mannat bagged three wickets and gave away just 20 runs in her quota of four overs. The star of the day for India was Shreyanka who bamboozled Bangladesh batters with her off-spinners. The 20-year-old bagged four wickets in her quota of four overs and gave away just 13 runs.

Earlier, Kanika Ahuja brisk cameo of 30 not out in 23 balls propelled India's total to 127/7 in 20 overs. Dinesh Vrinda played a handy knock of 36 runs in 29 balls and smacked five fours and one six in her innings.

For Bangladesh, Nahida Akter bagged two wickets and gave away just 13 runs in her quota of four overs. Sultana Khatun also bagged two wickets but she was slightly expensive on the day. Rabeya Khan and Sanjida Akter Meghla chipped in with a wicket each.
