In the T20 Mumbai League 2025 semifinal, Shreyas Iyer-led SoBo Mumbai Falcons beat NaMo Bandra Blasters by five wickets at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Considering a state T20 league match, crowd turned up in huge numbers to watch Punjab Kings (CSK) captain Iyer bat. While Iyer departed for a single-digit score in the run chase, SoBo Mumbai Falcons chased down tha 131-run target with 32 balls to spare and advanced to the final.
Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl. Siddharth Raut struck twice with the new ball to dismiss both openers. Shyamsundar Keshkamat struggled and scored just 15 runs from 26 balls. Captain Akash Anand and Dhrumil Matkar scored in 30s. Towards the slog overs, Sagarr Chhabriaa's 13-ball 23 cameo helped Namo Bandra Blasters post 130 on the board. Akash Parkar picked three wickets and effected a run out off the last ball of the innings to bowl out the opposition.
In the run chase, opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi got SoBo Mumbai Falcons off to a flying start. He hit three sixes and a four in his 14-ball 27. Opener Ishan Mulchandani played the anchor role while wickets fell on the other end. Chhabriaa dismissed Amongh Bhatkal and Iyer in the eighth over. Then, Matkar got the wicket of Harsh Aghav. But, they turned out to be consolation wickets. Parkar contributed with a 20-ball 32. Mulchandani remained unbeaten for 52 off 34 balls as SoBo Mumbai Falcons chased down the target in 14.4 overs.
What happened in other semi-final?
Earlier, in the first semifinal, Eagle Thane Strikers set a similar target for Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals. Rohan Raje registered a five-wicket haul whereas Aditya Dhumal bowled economically to take a couple of wickets. Despite skipper Atharva Ankolekar's unbeaten 30-ball 34 and Sairaj Patil's 40-ball 41, Eagle Thane Strikers posted 131/8. In the run chase, skipper Siddhesh Lad led the charge. Two wickets fell but Lad's unbeaten 52-ball 74 studded with nine fours and a six, helped Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals win by eight wickets with 13 balls to spare.

The final between Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals and SoBo Mumbai Falcons will be played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on June 12 (Thursday).

This will be Iyer's second final this month. So far, he has registered scores of 13, 25, 11 and 1. In the IPL 2025 final against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), he departed after scoring just one run as well.
