Earlier in September, Pant was involved in an ugly spat with Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela. It all started when Rautela, in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, shed light on an individual who would wait for hours in order to meet her. Instead of publicly mentioning the name of the individual, Rautela addressed him as "RP", which happens to be the initials of the wicketkeeper-batter.
Fans were quick to join the dots and Rautela's comments soon made headlines. Following the 28-year-old's remark, Pant shared a cryptic post on his Instagram story but didn't directly mention the name of the individual for whom the message was meant.
In a post in which the left-handed batter seems to be defending himself, Pant wrote "It’s funny how people lie in interviews just for some meager popularity and for hitting headlines.
