The trolling, which has been particularly targeted at Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell and Travis Head and their wives Vini Raman and Jessica Davies, has cast a shadow over the spirit of the game. Maxwell's wife, who is of Indian origin, has been subjected to offensive comments and hurtful messages, simply for celebrating her husband's team's victory. Vini posted an Instagram story responding to the hate coming her way and schooled the trolls with a powerful message. "aaaaand cue all the hateful vile DMs. Stay classy...

Meanwhile, Harbhajan expressed his disapproval of this behavior with a post on X (former known as Twitter). Harbhajan post read, “Reports of trolling of family members of Australian cricket players is completely in bad taste. We played well but lost the final to better cricket by the Aussies. That’s it. Why troll the players and their families? Requesting all cricket fans to stop such behaviour. Sanity and dignity are more important”, he wrote on Twitter. Have a look at his tweet below.”
