The International Cricket Council (ICC) shared the video that showcased all the seven wickets picked by Malaysia seamer Syazrul Ezat Idrus. Idrus became the first bowler in the history of cricket to bag seven wickets in a T20I match. The 32-year-old fast bowler achieved the feat in an ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Asia Regional Qualifier B tournament match between Malaysia and China. Idrus registered sensational figures of 7/8 in his spell of overs. His breathtaking effort with the ball spelled doom for China, who were bundled out for a paltry score of 23 runs. What made Idrus' feat even more incredible was that all the seven wickets he bagged came in the form of clean bowled.

Watch the video here:

No bowler in the history of T20Is had bagged more than six wickets in a match. India's Yuzvendra Chahal and Deepak Chahar are among the 12 bowlers who have accounted for six wickets in a match.

Coming back to the match between Malaysia and China, Idrus broke the backbone of China's batting line-up as none of the batters could even breach the 10-run mark. A total of six Chinese batters failed to even open their account as Idrus ran riot with his historic spell. China's innings lasted for just 11.2 overs and for a score of just 23 runs.

Apart from Idrus, Pavandeep Singh bagged two wickets while Vijay Unni Suresh Unni chipped in with a wicket.

Malaysia chased down the target without even breaking a sweat. After both Malaysian openers walked back to the pavilion without troubling the scorers, Sharveen Surendran and Virandeep Singh ensured the team's victory without suffering any more causality. Malaysia gunned down the target of 24 runs in just 4.5 overs with eight wickets in hand.

For China, Tian Senqun and Wang Qi bagged one wicket each.
