India will host Australia for three T20Is after Asia Cup as part of their T20 World Cup 2022 preparations. India are expected to take on Australia in Mohali (September 20), Nagpur (September 23) and Hyderabad (September 25) followed by limited-overs series against South Africa.

India will also play three T20Is against South Africa despite playing a five-T20I series just after Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The three T20Is will be held in Trivandrum (September 28), Guwahati (October 1) and Indore (October 3).

After the T20I series, India will fly to Australia. A second-string side will take on the Proteas in the three-ODI series which will be held in Ranchi (October 6), Lucknow (October 9) and Delhi (October 11).

With the completion of the three-ODI series, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will wrap up all the pending series which could not take place due to Covid-19.

The T20I series will work as much-needed practice for the Indian side. It will also be a chance for Virat Kohli to regain his form against the top sides. The Indian team management will look to get the combination right and pick from the pool of players they have picked over the months.
