RCB posted a video of players wishing happy birthday to the ‘Master Blaster’.

On legendary Sachin Tendulkar's 51st birthday, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik recalled one good and one bad memory with the ‘Master Blaster’. Karthik in a video posted by RCB to wish Tendulkar on his birthday said that he still gets grief for robbing the former Indian opener of a deserved hundred.

"Well, I can give you good memory, bad memory. Good memory being the fact that the first time I met him, it was on top of a flyover. We were going in a bus en route to the airport and he joined in his car and just got into the bus midway. That’s the first time I ever seen the man in my life. So that is a good memory," Karthik recalled.

"Bad memory was 97, not out. We needed four runs to win and I hit a six. So, I ended up making sure that he didn’t get the hundred, Till today, I get a lot of grief for it and rightly so. Understandable," he added.

Karthik ready for T20 World Cup 2024 callup

In the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Karthik has been in stupendous form as he is striking at a strike rate near 200. He has scored 251 runs from eight matches at an average of 62.75 including two half-centuries. He aims to represent India in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and West Indies.

"At this stage in my life, it would be the greatest feeling for me to represent India. I'm very, very keen to do so. There is nothing bigger in my life other than representing India in this T20 World Cup," the 38-year-old said earlier this month.

However, Karthik will be content with whatever decision the Big Three take.

"I also feel there are three very, very stable, honest people who are at the helm to decide what should be the best Indian team for the World Cup -- Rahul Dravid, Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar.

"And I'm completely with them. I respect any decision that they take. But all I can say is I'm 100 per cent ready, and I'll do everything I can to be on that flight to the World Cup," he added.
