India have made it into the final of the triangular T20 series for the visually challenged in Dubai (Triangular Blind T20 tournament). India beat Bangladesh by a huge margin by 63 runs to set up a big clash against arch-rivals Pakistan in the final.
For India, D Venkatesh Rao starred in the must-win fixture as he scored 91 runs from 62 deliveries including nine boundaries. The 91-run knock helped India post a challenging total of 185/2. Rao was adjudged player of the match for his scintillating performance.
In reply, Bangladesh never looked like they were in the hunt for the target. At the end of 20 overs, they could manage to put 122 runs on the scoreboard for the loss of six wickets. Earlier Indian skipper Prakash Jayaramiah won the toss and elected to bat first.
The final will be played after a break of one day on March 19.
On March 16, Pakistan stormed into the final of the tournament with a big seven-wicket win over India. They will have more practice before the final in dead rubber clash against Bangladesh on March 18.
India posted a total of 163 with the help of skipper Jayaramiah's 79-run knock off 64 deliveries. The second-highest run-scorer for India was Sunil Ramesh with his 24-run knock.
The 164 run-target was not enough to pose a threat against Pakistan as they chased down the total with seven wickets in hand and eight balls to spare.
Pakistan's Badar Munir and Muhammad Rashid did not let Indian bowlers dominate as they registered 64-run knocks each in the fixture. While Rashid took 48 deliveries to score 64 runs, Munir was more destructive as he took just 34 deliveries.
