The NBA kicked off its 2023-24 preseason in the Persian Gulf on Friday, marking the third consecutive year of this initiative. The likes of Payton Pritchard and Nikola Jokic were the stars for the night. The event was successful as it highlighted the NBA's global presence. Among the other spectators Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma was too present in the court along with his wife Ritika Sajdeh. Indian actress Disha Patani too was spotted during the game. 

 

Indian Skipper steals the show 

 Rohit also clicked with Spanish football icon Iker Casillas, the picture of the special global sporting crossover went viral on the internet with fans loving the cricket meets football combo. Along with Iker Rohit was also seen meeting Football legends Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho. Rohit recently led the Indian team to victory in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, ending a 11-year title drought for the nation. His success included a clean sweep against Bangladesh on home turf. Iker Casillas, who captained Spain to their first FIFA World Cup victory in 2010, is a celebrated figure in football. He also led Spain to victory in the 2008 and 2012 UEFA European Championships.  The 43-year-old had a stellar club career with Real Madrid, winning numerous titles including La Liga, the UEFA Champions League, and the FIFA Club World Cup, before finishing his playing days at Porto.

Rohit is currently on a break after captaining the Indian side that thrashed Bangladesh in a two-match Test series by 2-0 at home. The approach and intent of the Indian skipper was the talking point of the series with Rohit defying the format through his mindset. He will now be seen in action in the three-match Test series at home against New Zealand starting from October 16.
