Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan's brother Musheer Khan and father Naushad Khan met a road accident on the outskirts of Lucknow while travelling to Lucknow for the upcoming Irani Cup game from his hometown Azamgarh on the outskirts of Lucknow on Saturday, September 28. Their car hit a divider and overturned on the Purvanchal Expressway injuring both of them as Musheer suffered a neck fracture while his father got minor scratches. After the accident, the duo was admitted in Medanta Hospital. 

 

Here is the first reaction of Musheer Khan along with his father Naushad Khan. They thanked god for saving their life. 

“I want to thank God for giving me a new life. I am fine now. My father and I are fine. I thank God for your prayers” said Musheer.

The incident occurred when Musheer was travelling with his father and two others in an SUV, which collided with a median and overturned, according to eyewitness accounts and a member of the Lucknow Police traffic directorate. However, Musheer is now back in Mumbai for treatment and checkups.  Naushad thanked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) medical teams for taking care of them. 

 

Musheer was supposed to represent the Ranji Trophy champions, Mumbai, in the Irani Cup fixture at the Ekana Stadium. Following the Irani game, Mumbai's Ranji campaign is scheduled to begin on October 11 against Baroda.
 

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has yet to name a replacement for Musheer in the Irani squad, which is led by Ajinkya Rahane.
