In an interview with Sports Tak the dazzling opener told that matches against the arch-rivals Pakistan are always exciting and she will play the game with more intensity.

“I play with the same intensity against every team, obviously in the game against Pakistan we will go with more intensity. We will think about winning all the games. First game against Pakistan is different, India Pakistan games always go well, let's see what happens this time”, Shafali said.

On her experience of playing the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) this year, the 17-year old said that it was a great learning experience for her.

“I learnt a lot from the different players of different countries, everybody helped me whenever I asked something, I learnt different experiences from them. They do a lot of gym and running sessions,” the prolific opener revealed.

It’s been an inspiring journey for the young girl from playing in streets of Rohtak to representing India and playing eventually in WBBL at such a young age. The young girl also emphasized on how her family supported her during tough times and inspired her to do good.

She moreover, revealed that how she had a boy-cut in her academy days to play with the boys which eventually paid off.

“All players have their own struggles, I didn’t get girl’s academy in childhood, I struggled a lot, I started practising with the boys. Boys did not treat me well  because I was a girl. They were like the ball will hurt you.

"Then I saw one girl with boy-cut. I came back home and asked my father for a boy-cut and he agreed. Then I started practising with the boys, it really helped my game at the national level, I always think about working hard on myself."
