The Indian women's cricket team came under the scanner after their underwhelming performance at the World Cup where they were eliminated at the league stage, losing to South Africa in their final game. Following the tournament, questions were raised about the team's performance and combinations.

And now, according to a BCCI source who told SportsTak, the team is set to undergo a transformation in the coming months, and senior players' contributions will be evaluated, "Every team goes through a transformation and so will team India. We are in consideration of the same and soon will discuss it with the board secretary and president. Some of the senior players should think about it and take the call. They are senior players they know when to hang the boot so I can't comment on that but yes transformation is on the card for sure."

When questioned about the captaincy of the side, the source mentioned this is one part that needs to be addressed properly. "We have some options with us for T20 and ODI. You may see changes in ODI, we are discussing it. As of now, we have not decided because we have time in hand for the next ODI series but yes for the commonwealth games we are preparing the team on paper."

The source also shared updates on the upcoming Women's Challenger Tournament, which is scheduled to take place in Pune from May 23-28, "We might pick the team by today evening or tomorrow morning. will keep in mind all domestic players' performance for the selection."
