Mohammed Shami, Travis Head and Glenn Maxwell were nominated for the award.

Senior Indian pacer Mohammed Shami has been nominated for the esteemed ICC Men's Player of the Month award for November 2023, along with Australian World Cup heroes Travis Head and Glenn Maxwell.

Travis Head (Australia)

Making a triumphant comeback to the team after a prolonged injury hiatus at the end of October, Head showcased his exceptional form with a remarkable century against New Zealand. Sustaining his impressive run during November, he accumulated 220 runs in five ODIs with an impressive average of 44. This included both a half-century and a century.

Notably, he delivered standout performances in the ODI World Cup semi-final and final, earning the Player of the Match award and playing a crucial role in Australia securing their sixth trophy. In the final against India, he brilliantly smashed 137 runs from 120 balls, contributing to Australia's six-wicket victory. Facing adversity with Australia at 47/3 while chasing 241, Head maintained composure and excelled in the middle overs. His exceptional innings featured 15 fours and four sixes.

Glenn Maxwell (Australia)

In his three ODI appearances last month, Maxwell showcased exceptional form. One of Maxwell's standout moments was his remarkable innings of 201 runs from 128 balls against Afghanistan, overcoming severe cramps. This extraordinary knock included 21 fours and 10 sixes, making it one of the greatest ODI innings. Notably, this double hundred was the first by an Australian in Men's ODIs and the second-fastest double century ever. It also marked the first time a double century was achieved in a chase, setting a new record. This inning became the highest score by a player coming in at no. 6 or lower. He also contributed with two wickets.

Continuing his stellar form in the T20I series against India, Maxwell played a crucial role in Australia's victory in the third T20I in Guwahati. His sensational unbeaten century of 104* came off just 48 balls and included eight fours and eight sixes in the run chase of 223.

Mohammed Shami (India)

Continuing his outstanding form from the World Cup, Shami had a remarkable November, claiming 15 wickets at an impressive average of 12.06 and an economy rate of 5.68. His stellar performance throughout the tournament made him the leading wicket-taker in the 2023 World Cup, securing 24 wickets in just seven innings.

Notable highlights from Shami's performances in November included a sensational 5/18 against Sri Lanka at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Another disciplined display of 2/18 contributed to the demolition of South Africa at Eden Gardens.

However, Shami's standout moment came in the semi-final against New Zealand. Shami's early new-ball breakthroughs created a significant impact to derail New Zealand's run chase. While Daryl Mitchell and Kane Williamson resisted, Shami returned to claim five more wickets, finishing with a remarkable 7/57. This performance stands as the best return for an Indian bowler in ODIs.
