Pakistan on top, India in second place: Here's how 2023-25 WTC standings look after Rohit Sharma & Co. triumph in the Caribbean

Torrential rains played party-poopers for Team India on July 24 (Monday) in Trinidad. Day 5 of the second Test match between India and West Indies was washed out without a ball being bowled and, thus, the visitors were denied the chance to whitewash the hosts in the two-match Test series. Nonetheless, Rohit Sharma-led India secured the series and the trophy by emerging victorious by a margin of 1-0.

With this, India's first series of the new World Test Championship (WTC) cycle for 2023-25 also came to an end. Rohit Sharma & Co. bagged 12 points after winning the opening Test match of the series and secured another four points for a drawn second game. As a result, India currently occupies second place in the WTC standings with 16 points in two matches and a win percentage of 66.67.

India's arch-rivals Pakistan are sitting pretty on the top of the points table after Babar Azam's men enjoyed a winning start to the new WTC cycle. Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka in their first match of the 2023-25 WTC cycle and have 12 points and a win percentage of 100 at the moment.

Defending WTC champions Australia are in the third spot with 26 points in four matches. The Baggy Greens are currently squaring off against England in the marquee Ashes series. Pat Cummins' men have won two matches, lost one and drawn one contest in the 2023-25 WTC cycle.

England are fourth in the WTC standings with 14 points in their kitty. The Three Lions have won one match, lost two and drawn one contest in the four matches they have played in the new cycle thus far. West Indies are fifth after they opened their account courtesy of a rain-affected drawn Test match against India. West Indies have four points in their column.

Sri Lanka is the only other team that has played at least a Test match in the 2023-25 WTC cycle. The Islanders are yet to register a point.
