RCB's star pacer Yash Dayal revealed how Indian captain Rohit Sharma motivated him to constantly work hard and keep hustling during an interaction when he was serving as a net bowler. He talked about how Rohit optimistically assured him that his hard work would lead him to opportunities. In the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh, the Indian cricket team may introduce a new face to its fast-bowling line-up if key bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah are rested. Mohammed Shami is also currently sidelined with an injury, prompting selectors to expand their pool of pacers and consider the emerging talent. Among the candidates, left-arm fast bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Yash Dayal are among prominent contenders for selection.
Currently, India lacks a left-arm fast bowler in its Test squad, making their inclusion particularly noteworthy. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently awarded Yash Dayal a fast bowling contract, highlighting their confidence in his potential.
"I didn't have an interaction with him (Rohit Sharma) during IPL but when I was a net bowler during a tour I had a chat with him where he naturally motivated me saying keep working hard you will too get your chances," said Dayal in an exclusive conversation with SportsTak.
