‘You get what you work for, not what you wish for’: Rishabh Pant posts video of weightlifting, balancing on one leg

India's wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is well on his way to regain fitness. On July 20, Pant shared videos of his gym session where he looks to be pushing the limits. During the workout, Pant is still wearing a knee brace to avoid injury.

The video of Pant’s workout regime is making rounds of social media. “You get what you work for, not what you wish for,” he wrote in the caption.

At the end of the video, he is also seen balancing on one leg, the one which went under the knife few times after the southpaw survived car crash on December 30 morning last year.

Earlier, there were reports that Pant’s fast recovery at National Cricket Academy (NCA) has surprised Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). At this pace Pant may get back on the field in a few months. There is also a possibility that Pant may be in line for comeback before the ODI World Cup 2023 which will be hosted by India.

Pant played his last Test in December 2022. His services were missed in World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final against Australia as Srikar Bharat did not pose a threat with the bat. Before that, the Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper missed the entire Indian Premier League (IPL) season. However, he did show up for a game for moral support. He is highly likely to miss the upcoming Asia Cup as well.

Along with Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah are recovering at the NCA as well. As per reports, Pant has been in good spirits despite getting sidelined from international cricket for several months. Earlier this week, Bumrah posted a video of him bowling in the nets. He is expected to make a comeback in the T20I series against Ireland. Meanwhile, Iyer and Rahul are expected to return for the Asia Cup.
