England's middle order batter Harry Brook, who is deemed for 'greatness' according to his teammates, is gearing up to participate in his first Ashes series. At just the age of 24, Brook has become a household name in the cricketing circuit. His fearless approach coupled with the bat has played a significant role in 'Bazball'. The right-handed aggressive batter has played seven Tests in his career so far and, his numbers are outrageous.

Brook has aggregated 818 runs in just 11 outings for England in red-ball cricket. His average of 81.80 and strike rate of 99.03 are both spectacular and astonishing at the same time. He has smashed four tons and three half-centuries in Tests so far.

Ahead of the Ashes 2023 opener, a confident Brook displayed no signs of nerves or fear as he gears up to battle against one of the best pace attacks in the world. Just like his audacious approach with the bat, the young Englishman was not shying away from displaying some audacity with his words.

"Obviously they might have a little bit of extra pace, but if they bowl quicker it tends to go to the boundary quicker," said Brook.

It's a dream come true to be involved in my first Ashes. Growing up I was watching some of these players who are still playing, against the best in the world and the best Australians. I'm looking forward to it.

I feel like I'm more part of the team now. Obviously, as a deputy, you don't quite feel like you're meant to be there if you know what I mean. So to have been contributing and gain a few match-winning performances this winter has meant the world and I feel a big part of the team now," he added.

The much-awaited 2023 Ashes series between England and Australia will kick off on June 16. Two of the best teams in the world will re-ignite their century-old rivalry in what has been billed as one of the best Test series in recent times. The Baggy Greens come into the Ashes on the back of a commanding World Test Championship (WTC) final win over India at The Oval, London. The Three Lions, on the flip side, have played fearless cricket in the last couple of years and have redefined the way red-ball cricket is played. The two teams will cross swords in a five-match series, the first of which will be played at Edgbaston.
