Former English captain Michael Vaughan is going through tough times. Be it his involvement in the racism scandal in English cricket or his health issues, Vaughan is suffering in the current times. Recently he was dropped from the BBC commentary due to accusations of Azeem Rafiq in the racism scandal and now he has been tested positive for Covid-19. Following the serious allegations during his Yorkshire days, he has been dropped from BT Sport channel's Ashes coverage as well.
However, he will still be involved in the Fox sports Ashes coverage as he was associated with the channel’s commentary panel. Vaughan in a tweet confirmed that he has been tested positive for COVID-19 and has delayed his flight to Australia for a week.
Australia until next week
The former England captain wrote in a tweet: “I've had to delay my flight to Australia until next week because of a positive Covid test, which is frustrating. But at least I'll avoid the rain in Brisbane for a few days! And I'll be no more under cooked than both teams when I get there.!!”
Allegations of Racism
Yorkshire players Rafiq and Rana Naved-ul Hasan have accused former England captain of racially abusing the Asian players. The former English skipper stated that the allegations put on him have hurt him deeply but he went on to apologize to Rafiq.
“That hurts, because I’ve always felt that every single team that I have been involved in, the biggest praise I ever got as England captain for six years was that I was the kind of person that really galvanized the group, got the team working together as one. I wanted everyone in the dressing room to feel included,” Vaughan said earlier as quoted by BBC.
