Premier League: 'We will strike back' — Jurgen Klopp is sure of Liverpool comeback this season despite poor showing

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said that his team will need to 'squeeze every single thing out of this season' if the Reds want to end their stagnation this season after finding themselves in the seventh position in the Premier League ahead of their tie against  Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The German believes his team are ready to do wonders but needs to make the most of their chances, he said ahead of their match.
"We have to force it, we have to play and enjoy what we are doing. I really think we are ready. If there's a club who can do it, I really think it's us. Honestly, we will strike back in general. But now we have to make sure we squeeze every single thing out of this season that we can," said Klopp.

Liverpool have had a sudden fall from grace after they lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League final in 2022. The upcoming week will be a tough one for the Reds, who host recently-crowned Carabao Cup champions Manchester United after their game against the Wolves.

"I don't know what it will be but the obvious spots aren't too far away from us. We will see which one we can pick up. But there are no alternatives to results: We need results and performances. It's a super-important week. We don't need to make it smaller than it is. We have two home games, but tomorrow thank God only one. Not two in one," Klopp added.

Klopp was impressed with what he saw in the training sessions this week, and if results in the upcoming weeks bode in their favour, then it will surely give their season a push. "I would love to give the season a little push this week. And to get a result you need good performances. Nothing I saw since the last game in training gave the impression that we don't have a chance [to do that]. The few sessions we had looked good," said Klopp.

Liverpool have won 18 of their last 20 home league games against Wolves, with the exceptions being 1-0 defeats in January 1984 and December 2010. Klopp's Reds also beat Wolves after a replay in the FA Cup in January, so a victory over the men in black and gold is not an alien concept, despite the recent woeful league result. Klopp labelled that 3-0 loss as "not a cool day" and urged Liverpool to take advantage of being at home this time.

"We know a lot about each other. We know it will not be easy, so we have to make sure we are ready. I know Anfield will be, and we have to do our part," the German said.
