Lionel Messi and Argentina are set to face Chile in the upcoming Copa America 2024, aiming to avenge their losses in the 2015 and 2016 finals. The tournament, featuring 16 teams, including 10 from South America and six from CONCACAF, will be held in the United States. Argentina, the current Copa America champions and World Cup winners, will kick off their campaign on June 20 in Atlanta against either Canada or Trinidad & Tobago, who will determine one of the two remaining CONCACAF slots through a playoff.

Following their opener, Argentina will face Chile in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on June 25, revisiting the venue of the 2016 Copa America Centenario final. The teams previously clashed in the 2015 final, where Messi missed a penalty in the shootout. Argentina will wrap up their Group A matches on June 29 against Peru in Miami.

The 2022 Copa America is seen as a test run for the 2026 World Cup in North America. CONMEBOL president Alejandro Dominguez highlighted the global significance, stating it will be a "Copa America of the World" with renowned teams and the best Latin American players.

Brazil begins their campaign in Inglewood, California, against Costa Rica or Honduras on June 24, followed by matches against Paraguay in Las Vegas on June 28 and Colombia in Santa Clara on July 2. The tournament will use 14 stadiums, with the final set for Miami on July 14.

If Argentina tops Group A, they will face the Group B runner-up in the quarter-finals on July 4 at Houston's NRG Stadium. The semi-finals are scheduled for July 9 and 10 in East Rutherford and Charlotte, respectively, with the final at Miami on July 14.
