AC Milan star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has equalled a unique goal record initially set by Cristiano Ronaldo after his latest Serie A strike against Venezia. With his goal in the second minute against Venezia, Ibrahimovic has now found the net against 80 different clubs in Europe’s top leagues in the last 22 years, equalling Ronaldo. The Portugal star also recently reached the 80-club mark on December 30, 2021, when he scored against Burnley in the Premier League.

Ibrahimovic has played for Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona, Milan, PSG and Manchester United in the Old Continent since 2000. His contract with the Rossoneri expires at the end of this season, but he is likely to extend his stay at the club until June 2023. He has 91 goals in 148 games with the Rossoneri The Sweden international returned to Milan for a second spell in January 2020.

Theo Hernández scored twice as depleted AC Milan won 3-0 at 10-man Venezia to move top of Serie A on Sunday. Venezia put up a spirited defense but the match changed early in the second half as the home side swiftly went from 1-0 down to 3-0 down and with a player sent off after defender Michael Svoboda was shown a straight red card for denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity.

Milan threatened to double the lead several times but had to wait until the start of the second half to do so thanks to another assist from Leao, who threaded the ball through for Hernandez to burst down the left before blasting past Sergio Romero. Any hope Venezia had of getting back into the match disappeared by the 58th minute when Michael Svoboda was sent off for blocking a Hernandez shot on the line with his arm. Hernandez scored off the penalty to further humiliate Venezia.

Milan had won their opening match of the year 3-1 against Roma but were still without more than 10 players due to coronavirus, injuries and Africa Cup of Nations duty including Davide Calabria, Fikayo Tomori, Alessio Romagnoli, Samu Castillejo, Simon Kjaer, Fode Ballo-Toure, Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer. Venezia had Mattia Caldara and Tenner Tessmann suspended, with Tyronne Ebuehi on international duty.
