Mohun Bagan Super Giant, who won the Indian Super League Trophy in the 2022-23 season, have bolstered their squad with the signing of Albanian striker Armando Sadiku for the upcoming season. Sadiku has played in multiple European clubs in Switzerland and Spain but is most known for scoring Albania's only goal in the UEFA Euros — in 2016 when they qualified for the first time ever.

Sadiku was a product of Turbina, making his senior debut in 2007 and playing in Albania's second tier before moving to Gramozi in Albania's top-flight division. He made his debut in this division at the age of 18 and scored eight goals. He later joined Elbasani but was subsequently banned from Albanian football for non-sporting behaviour, leading him to move abroad to Switzerland.

A season later, he joined Elbasani, playing 14 games and scoring just five goals, before being banned from Albanian football for two years after pushing an assistant referee during a league match. This was his last game in Albanian football, making the switch to Switzerland to play for Locarno in 2011.

He had some of his best years in Switzerland, finishing as the Swiss second division's highest scorer with 19 goals in just his second season with the club, before sealing a move to Lugano. More impressive seasons followed and earned him a move to Swiss giants FC Zurich in Switzerland's top division.

He had spells with loan deals with Vaduz and Lugano, before moving to Poland to join Legia Warsaw. but half a season later earned a move to La Liga outfit Levante. He made his debut in February and became just the second Albanian to play in the La Liga.

He spent the next two seasons on loan at his former club Lugano and then in Malaga back in Spain, before moving to Erzurumspor in Turkey and then Club Bolivar in Bolivia. Most recently, the 32-year-old spent the last season in Spain with UD Las Palmas and FC Cartagena.

However, his biggest shot at fame was when he scored against Romania in the UEFA Euros 2016 against Romania. It was the first and only time his country had played in this mega tournament, with the side failing to qualify for the next edition in 2021. Albania were eliminated but finished third in their group because of his goal.

Sadiku joins an already strong attack which includes Australian forward Jason Cummings, young Indian striker Liston Colaco, as well as Dimitri Petratos, who finished the last season with an impressive twelve goals and seven assists in 23 matches.
