The two teams have faced off nine times in the past, and Croatia have won on three occasions while Spain have won five times. The European heavyweights last met in the round of 16 of the Euro 2020, which Spain won 5-3.
They reached the final after they beat the Netherlands 4-2 in extra time. Meanwhile, Spain reached the final with a last-second goal against Italy in Thursday's semi-final in Enschede.
Portugal were the inaugural champions of the UEFA Nations League in 2018-19 while France won the second edition in 2020-21. This time around, both sides were eliminated in the group stages in this year’s edition.
