WATCH | Neymar set to re-join boyhood club Santos? Brazil forward sends 'ill be back' message

Brazil forward Neymar, who has been sidelined from action till the end of this season after suffering from an ankle injury while playing got his current club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), decided to pay a visit to his boyhood club Santos during their Copa Sudamericana group stage match against Audax Italiano.

He saw his former side being held to a 0-0 draw and then revealed that he has plans to return to the Brazil giants after his stint in Europe which made him one of the biggest South American stars in Europe.

โ€œItโ€™s nice to come back to my house. I feel at home here, so happy to be back here after 10 years. Unfortunately it was a draw, I wanted the win. I came here to support Santos and receive the affection of the fans. It was the club that gave me everything, that opened doors for me and my family, that revealed me to the world," Neymar told reporters after the game. ย

While leaving the stadium after what turned out to be a boring and uneventful game, Neymar offered hope to Santos fans that he will represent them at some stage in the future when he said: โ€œOne day Iโ€™ll be back. Iโ€™ll be back soon.โ€

Meanwhile, Neymar has been missing in action for PSG since his injury mid-February. The 31-year-old was a regular among the goals for PSG before his unfortunate injury and also scored in the last match before he got hurt, against Ligue 1 opponents LOSC Lille at their home stadium of Parc des Princes.

Neymar injured himself midway through the match and was unable to see the game out after being forced off inside six minutes of the second-half getting underway.

The Brazilian forward started his career with Santos, before his much-publicised move to Barcelona. After winning all the possible Laurels with the Blaugrana, he moved to the French capital of Paris in what was then the biggest transfer deal in world football โ€” 222 million Euros. ย
