'Sometimes you need conflict...' — Pep Guardiola's troll aimed at Bayern after the Sane-Mane physical wrangle

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes that the training ground bust-up between Leroy Sane and Sadio Mane will galvanise their opponents as Bayern Munich work on overturning their 3-0 deficit from the first leg of their tie on Thursday, April 20.

The two attackers for the German side were involved in a major fight which started during their loss to the Cityzens but extended and imploded in the dressing room, where the wingers had to be separated by their teammates. The German Sane was photographed with a swollen lip after the incident, while Mane was dropped for Bayern's weekend fixture against Hoffenheim.

Guardiola said that such issues do not make a team weak, and this will bolster them against City. "Sometimes you need conflict to make the team more together, I am pretty sure of that. It's not a weak point, it will be a strong point against us," the Spaniard said after City's 3-1 win over Leicester.

He reiterated that if the result was the opposite against Bayern and if they dropped the game against Leicester in the Premier League, then there would have been 'some conflict' in Manchester City's changing room as well.

Manchester City kept their hopes of defending the Premier League title alive with the win over Leicester. They are just four points behind leaders Arsenal, who gave up their two-goal lead and drew with West Ham United. They also have a game in hand and can potentially go above them when they meet in two weeks.

"I know this club perfectly, I can imagine the situation against City, we play there, the players will do their best. Bayern will do their best on Wednesday but I am pretty sure what happened here. If it was the opposite and we had lost 3-0 and didn't win (against Leicester) and there was some conflict, the team would say it is a final for us and we know exactly what we have to do and we will do it."

Guardiola also pointed out that Manchester City were not complacent with a 3-0 lead against Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-final. The City manager added that his side will play at their best level. "We have a final in four days and the team is going to play at the limits. I know the character of the stadium and the players they have and the German mentality," Guardiola added.
