India dominate Asian Champions Trophy 2023

Under the spirited leadership of skipper Harmanpreet Singh, Team India has been a force to reckon with in the Asian Champions Trophy in this edition. Beginning their tournament journey with a resounding 7-2 win against China, the Indian hockey team has carried that energy forward. The sole blip in their impressive run was a hard-fought draw against Japan.

However, they immediately turned the tables, showcasing their prowess with a dominant 5-0 sweep against Malaysia. With such a spectacular performance, the Indian hockey team enter the semi-finals with an unbeaten record and a chance to beat Japan, their opponents in the penultimate clash of the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan hockey team's journey in the Asian Champions Trophy has been akin to a challenging roller-coaster. They finish in the fifth spot with a tally of five points. The match against India was for survival in the tournament as a win or even a tie would guarantee their progression to the semi-finals. However, a loss, especially a significant margin ended their chances completely.
